Claregalway is situated seven miles (11km) north of Galway City on the N17 road to Tuam (Sligo). Claregalway is an expanding village with a population of over 1,800 and a total of 4,000 people living in a parish of about 12,000 acres in size. Although agriculture is still an important local industry, Claregalway now offers many other services and employment sources.

The once quiet village is fast becoming a town. Yet it still retains its village character and a great sense of community.
