Looking Remarkable located beside the busy N17 with no river flowing under this bridge was restored in 2001.

The River Clare flowed under the Bridge until the 17th Century when it was rerouted to flow closer to the Castle. The Bridge was almost lost until the Claregalway Amenity Group decided to right the wrong.
