Claregalway Agricultural Show is held each year on the 2nd last Sunday in August. This year’s show is on Sunday August 23rd 2009. It is held in Duffy’s Claregalway Equestrian Centre, Rockwood, Claregalway. It is our nineteenth annual show and has gone from strength to strength over the years.

We try to incorporate a variety of events to cater for all ages. Outdoors we have horse, pony , cattle and sheep classes as well as a dog and pet show and recently added is the very popular poultry show.

Indoors we have various sections including crafts, home-baking, flower section, art and photography, farm produce and a junior section in which our youngsters like to display their artistic creations.

Throughout the day novelty events take place such as Bonny Baby / Glamorous Granny / Junior Miss and Mister etc., also face painting. There will also be competitions to test your skills like duck racing, penalty shoot out, crazy golf and many more. A farmer’s market plus other stands and stalls will also be worth a stroll around.

The lovely Kate McCarthy is this year’s show queen. Kate will be presenting the prizes in the various sections throughout the day.

The day ends with the infamous Donkey Derby! So come along and enjoy a fun day out with the family. Even if the weather isn’t perfect we provide as much shelter as possible.

Schedules and entry forms are available from Madge Fahy (secretary) at 087 9180723 or Bernie Noone at 091 798931.
