Canon Noel Mullin, Parish Priest for Claregalway, passed away on Friday 4th of December 2009 after a short illness.

Following a Requiem Mass on Monday 7th Father Mullin was buried in the family grave in Shrule Cemetery.

Noel Mullin was born in Shrule, Co. Mayo on 2nd January 1938. Educated in St.Mary's College, Galway he went on to study in Maynooth and was ordained on 23rd June, 1963. He subsequently served as CC in Rossaveal 1963, CC in Gort 1964, Dean of St. Mary’s College 1965, Chaplain to Merlin Park Hospital 1968, Chaplain GMIT & Holy Family School 1972, CC to Galway Cathedral 1981 and Diocesan Secretary 1987. Finally PP in Claregalway in October 1996, where he became a Canon in 1997.

Canon Noel was much loved and respected in the Parish and made great efforts to be involved in the community. He will be gretly missed by his parish.
